The Oscars Controv (Not That One)
Aside from the very obvious controversies of last night’s 94th Academy Awards, the Animation Twitter world has some thoughts and feelings about how the evening handles the animation industry.

Recently, we were asked to give a talk about our experience with animating in realtime at The View conference in Turin - exciting stuff! Unfortunately the continuing pandemic meant we weren’t flying over for pasta - instead we headed down to a local beach and recorded a casual and frank discussion about directing animation in real time and what that means.

This week many of our animated shots are coming into their Unreal scenes for post production. This is the first time a full scene is coming together; bringing in animation into the environment and adding final cameras, colour grade and any other post effects.

We are back, new and improved
In our own time, we have been putting in some hours to really get to grips with Unreal Engine, a game engine that is blowing the lid off the industry. We spotted this a few years ago, and were waiting for it to be ready to also use for animation and the time is finally right.
